Dana Larsen is the Director and Manager of the Vancouver Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary Society, which serves over 2500 patients with beneficial cannabis medicines.
Dana has worked as a journalist, editor, small business owner and manager of non-profit societies. He has extensive experience in community organizing and political campaigns.
Dana has been an active NDP member since 2003, and has attended over 20 provincial and federal NDP Conventions across Canada since that time. Dana is a graduate of the French Immersion program and speaks both of Canada's official languages.

Dana was born in Burnaby, and graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1993 with a degree in English and Psychology.
Dana began his career as founding editor and journalist for Cannabis Culture Magazine (1993-2003), building it into one of Canada's most successful magazines.
In 2001, Dana was a founding member and candidate for the BC Marijuana Party, and became Party Leader in 2002.
In 2003 Dana became a New Democrat, and has served on the Executive of his local riding association in various capacities.
Dana founded a group within the NDP called "End Prohibition, New Democrats Against the Drug War." About 1000 New Democrats across Canada have now signed up to participate in this organization.
Dana is the co-founder of the Vancouver Seed Bank, which opened in 2006. In 2008 he sold off his half of the business to start new projects.
In 2008, Dana became the founding Director and Senior Manager of the non-profit Vancouver Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary Society. The Society now serves over 2500 patients from two locations, one in the Downtown Eastside and one in the West End.
Dana also serves as Director of a non-profit society which operates a Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary in Maple Ridge.
Dana is the father of a 13-year old daughter and lives in East Van.
